Ivan Fedotov
Ivan Fedotov is an artist and painter with a classical academic background and a distinctive visual language. A graduate of the Far Eastern State Academy of Arts (2004–2010), where he specialized in easel painting, Ivan has been a member of the Union of Artists since 2013. He has held over 20 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows and art fairs in various countries.
Having received formal academic training, Ivan developed a strong foundation in composition, color harmony, and spatial volume. Over time, he began exploring his own artistic direction, experimenting with materials to achieve unusual visual effects. His work remains rooted in classical principles, yet pushes beyond them through innovative use of texture, color, and form.
In his practice, Ivan investigates the metaphysical nature of painting — its emotional and psychological impact on both the viewer and the artist. Constant experimentation allows him to uncover the subtle impulses created by color interactions, surface textures, and unexpected material combinations. His goal is not merely to evoke simple emotions, but to elicit deep and complex responses that transcend verbal interpretation.
Committed to innovation in contemporary art, Ivan also supports sustainable creative practices and values artistic exploration that contributes to broader cultural and environmental awareness. His evolving artistic language reflects a sensitivity to global artistic discourse while remaining deeply personal and emotionally resonant.
